Let’s change the mental wellbeing conversation across Stockport together!
Our Connect 5 programme is a series of mental health training modules designed to help people have better mental wellbeing conversations in the workplace. Hailed as “inspiring”, “valuable” and “empowering”, Connect 5 training enables us to provide better mental health support, break down barriers, raise awareness and understanding and ultimately improve wellbeing and conversation across Stockport.
The training is underpinned by the ‘five ways to mental wellbeing’ and evidence-based theory so not only will the modules offer you the confidence, resilience, skills and techniques to help others and you will gain the knowledge to better look after your own.
Connect 5 is ideal for anyone who works or volunteers in a public facing role within Stockport, perhaps you’re a key worker, a community worker, in health and social care in the emergency services?!
How does it work?
There are three modules all of which build on each other. Each module lasts three hours. Modules two and three may vary by half an hour.
Module 1 is a fantastic starter course which can be undertaken on its own and is really designed for one-off conversations around mental wellbeing. In this session you’ll learn about two mental health models which incorporate the 5 ways to mental wellbeing and more.
Module 2 builds on the knowledge and techniques you’ve learnt in module one and introduces basic motivational questioning techniques . It also discusses suicide and how you can identify signs as well and how to support others. It is suitable for people who maybe having more in-depth wellbeing conversations in their roles.
Module 3 again builds on the previous two modules, looks at exploring further techniques as well and looking after our own wellbeing. It is suitable for people who are meeting people on a regular basis to help improve wellbeing.
You can choose to progress through the modules depending on the requirements of your role.
