Chris (Volunteer) – ” Margaret took a break from gardening to relax and do some watercolours, and this one was inspired by the wisteria in the garden. It has never had so much blossom on it before, and really looked a picture.”

Myra (Group member) – ” Dear all. The final photo. The quilts will be Anne, Bob (made them and donated them). C: not yet chosen, Dorothy and Thomas who attend regularly. E: my Exodus quilt for picnics and F: Friday? There are usually 4 tables and the Welcome table so mine will only visit during holiday times when we have picnics in Cheadle Heath Community Centre Park. Ooh, C could be Collin: since he started these group projects off? Kind regards and Keep Alert”

Myra (Group member) – ” Dear Stockport Mind and Volunteers, I rearranged my quilting to Wednesday lunchtime/evening (watching the Great British Sewing Bee). On Tuesday I measured and photographed quilts donated to Friendly Fridays by Bob and in memory of his wife Anne. They are to be continued as tablecloths in a similar fashion to the Thursday at One wallhanging. Quilts attached”

Myra (Group member) – ” A year in the progress of our ‘Welcome to Friendly Fridays’ tablecloth. My Exodus quilt is demonstrating how the hexagons will look over the Welcome table. My plan is to add blanket stitched teddies around the Welcome tablecloth so we can use it for teddy bear picnics in the park. I hope to arrange to borrow the Thursday at One wall hanging to show another group project when finished – perhaps some volunteers/staff from that group could come along too? I will add some roses for Rose Walker, for whom the Community Centre was renamed. It was known as Gorsey Bank Pavilion when my parents held their wedding reception there 70 years ago.”

Myra (Group member) – ” Greetings from Cheadle Hulme. Today’s progress: there are sewing lines that I hadn’t planned! Kind regards to all in the virtual circle of Thursdays at One.”

Ve (Volunteer) – “I made another card, for my grandson – his 22nd birthday. I designed it especially with him in mind. There photo of the work in progress shows the small pieces of Decopatch, and the Ying Yang has spots on, to define it more. The only disappointment is that the card warped – it was not proper art paper, just cards bought to decorate. Hope everyone is safe. This will end and we shall have a celebration.”

Suzi (Group member) – “These photos [this plus two images below] show the hat I was knitting – finished – some preemie baby blankets I made to donate to hospital, preemie cardigans, a knitted single bed blanket I made, and lastly a new blanket I’ve started – crochet this time.”
