We have been invited to enter a team in the Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter’s Charity Swimathon this year, so we are looking for team members.
The event takes place on Saturday 23rd March 2019 at Stockport Grammar School, and funds are being raised for various local charities.
Might you be interested in getting involved and being in our team? This event would be a great way to be part of a team effort, reap the benefits of exercise, and raise some vital funds to support our local services.
Each team will collectively swim as many lengths as possible in 55 minutes, with team members seeking advance sponsorship based on the number of lengths their team will complete. On average, a team would complete between 90 and 100 lengths within the timeframe.
Only one member of each team will be in the water at any one time, and there are no hard and fast rules on how the team is organised as regards turn-taking with the lengths.
So if this sounds like it could be something you’d like to take part in, please give us a call on 0161 480 7393, or email firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘FAO Marcus – Swimathon’ in the subject line, to register your interest. If we can get enough people together, we will sign up a team and help to support the event.
