Our GRASP group have recently been on trips to Altrincham and West Kirby.
On 3rd October, eight GRASP members headed to the Crafters Market in Altrincham. As well as checking out the market, they headed to charity shops in the town centre. All present enjoyed a windy but dry day.
As part of our work focusing on both mental and physical health together, we’re starting to record how many steps our GRASP members take on each trip. On the Altrincham trip members made approximately 9500 steps each.
On 6th October, members enjoyed a pub lunch in West Kirby before looking round the shops, exploring the local park and walking along the waterfront. They warmed themselves up with a hot drink looking out to sea before heading back to the train station.
In West Kirby the group did an impressive 15,327 steps each.
GRASP is a group which goes on trips to help people reduce social isolation, promote independence and connect with their community and the wider world. If you’re interested in this group, please phone 0161 480 7393 and ask for Kate to find out more.
