It’s Mental Health Awareness Week

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 2017.

The theme for the week is ‘Surviving or Thriving?’ because good mental health is more than the absence of a mental health problem. The idea is to look at mental health from a new angle, focusing on why too few of us are thriving with good mental health.

We’re going to be out and about in the community to recognise the week, and will be holding conversations with people about mental health to raise awareness.

On Thursday, we will have two awareness stands for staff at Landis & Gyr, as well as a stand for students at Stockport College.

On Friday, our staff will be at Cheadle Hulme School to chat to any students that want to talk about mental health. They are also holding an information stand for students on Thursday, and a Powerpoint presentation we have prepared will be shown on screens throughout the week.

If you want some ideas on how you could recognise the week, we’ve got a pre-prepared list here

We also have plans for our own staff, so that we ensure we’re taking a bit of time to focus on awareness for ourselves as well as others in the community.

Feel free to get in touch on Facebook or Twitter to let us know what you’ve been doing to recognise the week.
