Leisure Links Outreach Project

MAPS
Mind Arts Project supports the exploration and enjoyment of the visual arts in the community by those people who have suffered some form of mental illness.

Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for volunteers, to work in the office, help with trips, work in advocacy and on the information service. Full training and support is provided.

Accessing Mind’s Services
Stockport Mind has a policy of open access to the services it provides, the only criteria are that you are between 18 and 65 and live in the Stockport area. Referral could not be easier, ring the office and tell us the help you need! If we can provide that help, we will - if not then we will do our best to find out who can.

Once you have made contact then you will be asked to come into the office to meet one of our workers, they will assess your needs and try and match them to our services. It may be that you require a range of services and may need to speak to more than one person; this is necessary to make sure you receive the services most suited to you.

You may be asked questions which you find intrusive, these are to ensure your safety and well being. We need to know enough about you to ensure that we can deal with an emergency.

We make no charge for our services; the only exception is for trips out, such as to the theatre or a concert, where we ask for a contribution towards the cost, usually between £1 and £3 (occasionally the charges could be higher if we cannot obtain discounts).

If you have any comments or complaints about our services please let me know.
