The Samaritans provide confidential emotional support to any person who is suicidal or despairing.

NHS Direct
0845 4647 (24 hours, 7 days per week)
24 hour confidential medical helpline operated by nurse advisors.

 Mental Health Rapid Assessment Team
0161 419 5246 (9.00am – 10.00pm, 7 days per week)
Extra support to help people resolve a mental health crisis. The Accident and Emergency Department of Stepping Hill Hospital or your GP can provide a referral to the team.

Stockport Mind:

Helpline
0161 474 0444 (7.00pm-12.00am, 7 days per week)
Information and support seven nights a week. The service is intended for you if you have mental health needs, care for someone with mental health needs or are a concerned relative or friend.

Information Service
0161 480 7393 (9.00am-5.00pm Monday-Thursday and 9.00am - 4.30pm Friday)
Information on local services, medication, treatments, complimentary therapies, your rights and much more. The service is available for everyone: service users, carers, friends, family and professionals.
