Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 13-19 May.

Mental health problems can affect any of us, on any day of the year, but this week provides a particularly great opportunity to raise awareness and have a chat with a friend, family member or colleague about our wellbeing.

The theme this year is ‘Body Image – how we think and feel about our bodies’.

We always make sure to take the opportunity to get involved in events which raise awareness, especially when these events come around. This year we are linking up with Stockport College on Monday 13 May to talk to students about mental health and any challenges they are facing.

On Wednesday 15 May we are talking to DWP staff, as well as appearing at an event where Zeno Ltd. will be raising awareness at one of their properties – they’re hosting a party for their residents, which is set to be a really fun afternoon with a bouncy castle and DJ.

We will be sure to get involved with other opportunities through the week, and raising awareness online too. If you’re doing something special this Mental Health Awareness Week, please feel free to tag us on Facebook or Twitter and let us know what you’re up to.

The CEO of the Mental Health Foundation, Mark Rowland, has put this great blog together which explores the theme of the week.
