This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Monday 14th to Sunday 20th May. The theme is stress and how we cope with it.
We will be in a number of places around Stockport throughout the week to raise awareness of mental health – stress included – and get people talking, as part of our passion for tackling stigma and discrimination.
If you would like to come down and see us, find out more about what we do, ask questions about mental health or just show your support, please come along to any of the following stands. It would be great to see you:
Monday 14th May, 7.30am – 10am, Stockport Train Station
Monday 14th May, 4pm – 7pm, Stockport Train Station
Tuesday 15th May, 12pm – 2pm, Stockport Homes Windmill Café at Cornerstone (SK1 3NQ)
Thursday 17th May, 12pm – 2pm The Place To Eat café at John Lewis in Cheadle (SK8 3BZ)
We are also going to have awareness stands for staff at numero and Stockport Homes, we will be attending the Healthwatch network event, and are looking to help Barclays in Stockport with one of their events too, for which the details are still to be confirmed.
It’s great that so many organisations are getting involved this year and showing their support in the local community. We are Stockport’s main mental health training provider and are proud to be able to engage with so many people and organisations about mental health and to support changes to make positive mental wellbeing achievable.
As part of the training we deliver, stress is something that we cover, so please do get in touch if your organisation are interested in our training sessions so we can explain more.
