A few weeks back, as one of our Social Work students’ placement with us came to an end, she announced that she would be leaving us with a parting gift.
Jo Donegan, who worked with us between August 2016 and January 2017, has decided to raise money for us by doing the Great Manchester Run (10k) in May.
She said: “Recently I was able to witness first hand what this fantastic charity does for people struggling with their mental health. Each and every one of the staff do an amazing job and I actually feel quite honoured that I have been able to be a part of this amazing work they all deliver on a daily basis.
“So for this reason and as a thank you to all, I have decided to run the Manchester 10k in an effort to raise money for Stockport and District Mind.”
Other staff members have been considering signing up to join Jo in May, and we also have at least two of our sponsor organisations intending on staff members signing up to run and raise money for us as well, so watch this space for details.
